Yes, this countertop is not real marble, and yes, next to it is easy to understand. But for the price this is a fantastic table! The paper coating on top is dense and beautiful, not too blurry, the seams are not visible. It is small, comfortably fits 2-3 people, 4 people fit but will be flattened. Perfect for a small lunch/breakfast spot, which is what we needed. The base is SUPER strong and heavy and we haven't had any blemishes or scratches on the gold portion of the base. I would buy this table again for the same price and if you are on a budget I can recommend it as the best option! Don't place anything hot or cold without a napkin/coaster/hot rack and don't cut food directly on the countertop and it should be fine for years of use.
