This is a small stool. It's 10" x 10" making it slightly smaller than the dimensions. Looks closer to a stool or plant stand. I bought it mostly for decorative purposes so I don't mind but I would probably rate it more in the $35-$40 + S/H range for what it is. Even the photos on the website make it look like it. a reddish-orange or cherry red spot to make it look like a red fox. That wasn't the case with me. Mine was the same walnut color as the stool legs, so keep that in mind if that's important to you. I think red would be better. You can also see from the photos that it has a rustic, shabby look in some places. That looks intentional. It's only on the sides and doesn't spoil the look of imo, just pointing it out when it's important to someone. On the plus side, the chair has grown on me since I first opened it. The sleepy fox design is really cute. It is carved in wood, not just painted so it will last a long time. The stool also appears to be very durable. I don't think an adult will have a problem using it as a step stool. The wood is hard and thick with a silky smooth surface. Overall I like it and would love to give it as a gift but I'm deducting a star for the price.
