Maybe not for everyone but perfect if you know what you're looking for
I love this pillow. I was a little hesitant to shell out $40 for a single pillow, but thin pillows are so hard to find these days that I was a little desperate. Everyone seems to want to be as fat and fluffy as possible. I have to sleep on my stomach, so my neck tilts too far back or to the side when I sleep on huge pillows. This pillow is really quite thin and softer in my opinion. So yes, you won't have much space between your head and the surface of your bed when your weight is on it. That's how I like to sleep. People who complain about the synthetic smell just need to give a thorough wash of a cover or two.
