BACKGROUND: Have several 16oz Dean Crouser coffee mugs. Most of them were bought at a local store for around $14.99. The ones on Amazon were more expensive. My shop didn't have this mug. From time to time there are minor manufacturing defects on the mugs. Found this whilst shopping locally for a Cardinal mug. At the local store where I usually buy them, Cardinal Dean Crouser's mug had a bulge on the inside of the mug. This made me nervous about ordering them online. However, they didn't have a Blue Jay mug and it was so good that I put it on my wish list along with a few other mugs. They are just gorgeous and go well with my morning coffee. RATING: Colors are as advertised. Blue Jay as seen in the pictures fits the mug perfectly. The inner blue of the mug goes very well with the bird blue. It's smooth and silky on the inside. No frills or material problems. We use about a month. No problem. I usually wash by hand, but also in the dishwasher. I still have a few mugs of Dean Krauser watercolors. I've had some for 5 years. They last a long time and the color is just as beautiful today as it was when I bought them. All of them clean up well in the dishwasher from time to time. I've also warmed up my coffee in these mugs in the microwave with no problem. I can absolutely and unreservedly recommend Dean Crouser coffee mugs. They're so decorative you might want them to sit like me. Good enough for everyday use and elegant enough to serve dessert to friends after dinner. Thankfully I've never dropped one of my mugs, but since they're stone I expected them to break.
