Review on SLIK Pro 700 DX Tripod: Titanium with 700DX 3-Way Pan-and-Tilt Head – Ultimate Stability for Professional Photography by Warren Hess

Revainrating 5 out of 5

ABSOLUTELY hard stone.

I'm tired of cheap aluminum tripods, especially for shooting star trails and landscapes. They vibrated, slipped and were unstable. I'm so glad I chose this tripod. It is excellent. It is durable and has many customizations. The legs are very stable, as are all the mechanical adjustments. My only criticisms are: - Too heavy. So be prepared to carry it over your shoulder when dragging it to the shoot. (But its weight gives it stability.) - The "Hockeypuck" removable plate is good, but it's a little tricky to turn with the right torque. It should be tight when you rotate the camera body to shoot in portrait mode, but when you do, the body may rotate if you haven't screwed the plate in tight enough. And of course, if you screw it into the base of your body TOO tight, you may have trouble loosening it.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Expensive
