I don't wear contact lenses but bought them to apply gels/liquids for a small travel allowance. I haven't found a travel solution that isn't too big, bulky, or leaking water. That seems to fit the bill. I can store things I don't need for travel and don't waste space. I love fun colors and it helps me figure out what's what even though I label them too. I have two each in pink, peach, blue, yellow, white and clear - all pastel colors so not as bright as in the picture. Kind of a shame, but whatever. Make sure you close it well. I think it would be great for contacts. It's flexible plastic. I thought it was silicone. "Left" and "Right" are written in large letters on the lid.
