The condition of the item marked as "NEW" turned out to be "used-good" at best. It connected to the Internet (Wi-Fi and LAN), paired perfectly with the included remote control, even downloaded the obligatory "latest updates" and restarted after the updates. This is where the excitement started. Roku 3 wouldn't start and for the next hour all I could see was the dancing "Roku" logo. I've tried turning off the device and resetting it with the reset button, even factory resetting it, and despite my best efforts, the poor thing never got past the dancing logo. So it looks like the "Certified Refurbished" claim is misplaced as I don't think anyone has bothered to actually confirm that it works. The product image is correct and accurate but everything else was a waste of time. Otter Creek/Revain, where I got this from, returns the money almost as soon as I hand the package over to the UPS driver, which is way quicker than they promise in their return policy, which is pretty cool. The whole experience is not worth the $15-$20 savings over the brand new item I just ordered. It's hardly worth saving $15-20 even if the device actually works as it looks pretty used and the new model comes with a remote control with extra shortcut keys, 5 VUDU movie credits and a 3 month HULU trial becomes. maybe there are other advantages.
