Sturdy ice boots are the best at climbing

I ordered these ice boots for my wife after she started doing more outdoor winter sports. She used to use bungee cord but was looking for something more permanent. They are easy to attach: the front of the mandrel is marked with the word "vorne" and arrows pointing forward. They come with velcro straps that are used to secure the spikes in place. I would highly recommend using it and would not order a product that does not contain it. In the past we have used cleats that didn't have an extra strap to hold the cleats in place and after running and hiking all day they would shift and even loosen. They do not come with instructions. So be sure to check out the photos on the Revain listing or the last photo in this review for instructions on how to properly attach the Velcro. If you just fold it back without hooking it to the D-ring first, it's not long enough or securely attached. It's not snowing here yet, so my wife just put them on to feel them on the grass and sidewalk. The lugs are strong and didn't bend on the pavement, and the lugs felt secure. They come with a small carrying case which is handy to take off and put in your backpack when picking up snow and ice. The large size fits their mid-weight 9.5 women's hiking shoes. I will update if there are any issues after using it on ice.

Pros
  • Best in their niche
Cons
  • Pretty much everything is fine
