Review on πŸ”Œ Upgraded Pro Charger 44W 15V 2.58A Power Supply for Microsoft Surface Pro 6 Pro 5 (Model 1796 1800) - Includes Power Cord and Extra 5V 1A USB Charging Port by John Clark

Not an original Microsoft charger.

So I saw this charger got 5 stars and I thought it might actually be a legitimate Microsoft charger. Well I got it today, compared it to my actual Surface charger and it is NOT a genuine OEM Microsoft charger. Already sent back. Maybe I'm just more observant than the average consumer. Here are the notable differences: 1. The cable that plugs into the wall is stiffer than the actual Microsoft charger and is also made of a different material. The genuine Microsoft charger has soft-touch rubber, while this is a harder material. Also, the square part with the pins sticking into the wall is bigger than the Microsoft.2. On the big block, the USB connector is upside down compared to the actual Microsoft charger. It was a big red flag.3. The long cable with the Surface connector is not as flexible and is significantly stiffer.4. The magnetic connection is not as strong as a real Microsoft charger.5. The weight is less. Over the years of owning laptops I've found that aftermarket fake chargers are always lighter, the genuine Microsoft charger I have is noticeably heavier. I will say one thing, this is a GOOD fake. If you couldn't look at the real one and this one nearby, you'd probably assume it's real. I can't comment on how durable or how reliable it is because I returned it after looking at it side by side. on the present side. Again, a pretty plausible fake, but I don't think this article is priced right considering you can find $10-$20 fake Surface chargers here at Revain. EDIT: I just received a fake charger that I bought from Revain for $8.00 and it is identical to this one that is $45. I might even say $8 is better in terms of quality control. Just to say that this charger is NOT OEM Microsoft, it is a typical imitation that looks like Microsoft.
