High Sierra Solid Metal Handheld Shower w/ Drip Valve 2.0 GPM - Stunning chrome finish. This item is a work of art. You will understand as soon as you pick it up that you have bought something special. It looks like nothing else. It looks like nothing else. That's a beast. It's all metal and weighs quite a bit, although it feels very good in the hand. And while it weighs more than my large showerhead, it doesn't tilt under its own weight. Flow. I bought the 2.0 GPM because we had a local water pressure drop and I didn't want to lose any more. But it turns out I might not need any of that. This is a little different than what you are probably used to. It just throws water at you, which can appear like a random jet, as opposed to the well-organized jets of a typical showerhead. I was a little lacking in enthusiasm for it at first, mostly because I've never had one before. So I entered. I got wet right away. I was impressed. When my shower was on I stuck my face right under it and it felt a bit intense. That's when I discovered the beauty of the jet valve! I gave so little thought to the jet valve because every similar valve in every showerhead I've had in the past has leaked. It was a "switch" type feature that never worked well enough to ever use, so I got used to ignoring it. So imagine my surprise and delight when I clicked on this one and found that it is a very efficient valve that gradually shuts off the water! Serious! I now have a shower head that runs anywhere between 1/2 and 1/3 power and stays there reliably. I just reduced the flow until it felt good on my face (probably 3 inches from my head) and let it go! And it seems to me that this will be enough for my whole soul. There are some things to get used to. First of all, this shower head is quite noisy. Now I can be a bit more sensitive than most because I work with audio for a living, but it's definitely louder than any other showerhead I've had. The sound of someone hissing isn't like water. I think it's an aerator effect, and interestingly, when I tapped the end of it with my finger, it completely changed the output. I could actually tell how low the flow was and the noise stopped but returned to normal when I removed my finger. Second, the "chaotic" representation of water. If one has only seen orderly streams of water up to now, then this comparatively wild rushing water makes me feel that disorder is inevitable. It's not, and I think I can get used to it. One of those things is a deal breaker and not enough to deduct a star, especially when you pick it up and feel the build quality. Built in the USA. Excellent work! Thank you! Of course it costs a little more, but that doesn't bother me. You get what you pay for.
