If you have a metal desk (my entire frame is metal with a wood composite top), just use magnets to attach these trays. I didn't want to screw these in cause I am still unsure exactly where I want these positioned and whether I will permanently use one or two trays. Currently, I'm using both and have just 2 magnets for each tray and I can't believe how well they are staying put (but I ordered a couple more for added stability). This will also make it easier to dust as I can simply remove the entire tray with ease. My cats now love sitting next to my feet while I use my computer cause no more messy cords.
