Almost Perfect Best Among Security Cameras

I love innovative gadgets, so judging by the design and innovation, this camera already gets high marks from me. I was looking for a rechargeable IP camera that could be mounted remotely from a power source. So I was prepared to change or charge the battery regularly, but the presence of a solar panel makes this step unnecessary. This camera has an additional feature that I didn't expect. The solar panel is connected to the camera via a micro USB cable. This is great because if I ever get power where it's installed I can choose a wired power supply. Even if you ever need to charge the battery; I have an easy way to do this. Overall, setting up the camera was very easy. It uses a barcode generated in the app to pass your information to the camera after you log in and create an account. All of these processes and features are fairly standard, but this camera stands out for its quality construction and design. The two features I want to point out are the power port cover and the magnetic mount. The power, reset, and microSD connectors are covered by a thick rubber grommet/cover that is integrated into the connection to the solar panel. As you can see in my photo, after connecting the panel, everything is sealed very well. I really wonder why there isn't a visor or other protective measure around the lens. The magnetic mount is an ingenious way to mount your camera and position it in almost any angle and position. There should be a fairly powerful magnet in the chamber behind the rubber recess. In connection with the metal hemisphere it fits perfectly and is very safe. The only thing I would change or add to this build is a strip of silicone along the edge of the glass/solar panel frame. My kit didn't have anything that looked like infill so I did and now feel a lot better about the panels' durability in wet weather.

Pros
  • Absolutely Amazing!
Cons
  • Easy maintainability
