The straps are quite long and well woven. You can trim them by simply prying off the brass tip and attaching it to the cut end with pliers. The buckle is attractive and will hold tight in working conditions. This is important to me as I wear it to chop wood and any loosening of the strap can be dangerous. I hope the canvas wears well; However, I only wore the belt yesterday for the first time, so I can't say anything about durability yet. One of the surprises was that the straps only come with one buckle, so you have to change the buckle to wear a different color. Overall I am very satisfied and am specifically looking for Made in America. Thank you Thomas
