40ft x 60ft building, 16ft walls I have purchased 7 of these lights and am still very impressed. I only needed 6 which is a lot but I had a shaded area in front of my RV. I had a hard time getting information to decide how many I needed and how to place them. So here's what I have and my comments. Hope that helps. A 40 foot by 60 foot building with 16 foot high walls and a 4:12 pitched roof. My lanterns are probably about 18 feet tall and have plenty of light. I originally planned to put about 14 but they are so bright I picked them up. 6 lights are enough for my 40x60 shop. I installed the lights on a pulley system with high strength parachute cord so I can reach them in the future as they are very large and need lifting. I made loops of 16 inch stainless steel cord and connected them to the extension about every 3 feet and routed the cord down the middle so that it folded into loops when lifted. I think they are high enough not to be distracting. I bought 15 foot extension cords and put an outlet across each light to plug them in. I will try to post pictures of it soon. EDIT A year later they are still doing great. No questions.
