Review on Cuisinart WMR-CA Round Classic Waffle Maker, Silver, 1: The Perfect Breakfast Companion by Jamie Lundgren

Worst waffle maker I've ever had (and I've had several)

A very disappointing waffle maker. We regret that we bought it. The control lever has so much play that precise adjustment is not possible. It doesn't get hot enough to make crispy/creamy waffles (crispy on the outside and tender on the inside) no matter how long it's heated. If we bake the waffles until they are browned, they will be crispy all over. The finished waffles will have a very dark (almost burnt) circle showing where the heating element is. We've never had evenly browned waffles. The red and green indicator lights are useless as the green light (indicating the waffle is done) comes on when the waffles are barely browned in some spots. On the other hand, it is easy to clean and takes up little storage space. We struggled with this waffle maker for several years and it never worked well. We have never produced evenly browned waffles. From what I remember we had three waffle makers and this first one was disappointing. Maybe we got a bug. But we gave up and just bought another waffle iron. We cannot recommend this waffle maker.

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
