This is a good standalone setup with 2 cameras and a monitor. The cameras need to be plugged in, but the adapters have nice long cables so they can be placed where you want them. The monitor can operate either plugged in or unplugged for flexibility. The battery in the monitor lasts 10 hours. My system worked immediately. I simply placed the cameras where I wanted, walked to the furthest point in my house from the cameras, and then turned on the monitor. Camera 1's image appeared immediately. Use the left and right arrows to switch between cameras. The system thus worked out of the box according to the plug-and-play principle. I had no glitches with images. Now the picture from the camera isn't the highest resolution in the world, but it's good enough for the purpose I think. A bigger monitor would obviously be better, but it works well. There is two-way audio between the cameras and the monitor. I like that the cameras have night vision so you can see the image day or night. There's a small 2x zoom if you want a closer look at the target. There are several modes of operation. Of course, you can always view a specific camera. You can also switch between cameras automatically every few seconds. It also has a crying video where the video starts when the camera hears the sounds. You can also adjust the color temperature, brightness and volume of the monitor. You can also mount the cameras on the wall. The monitor display shows the battery level, the connection status of the cameras and the temperature of the room where the camera is located. You can add 2 cameras if you want, so 4 in total. Instructions are good and to the point. There are many ways to set up cameras to monitor rooms in your home using smartphone apps. This system is autonomous and independent of any external connection. If you want a standalone, simple system to monitor a child, elderly, or any other situation in your home, this system is worth considering.
