I don't know what the soft function means - but it fell on the floor and left not broken. Holds about a standard pack of moisture. Overfilling can make it difficult to remove the wipes. It kept my wet ones moist and it looks better than packing wet ones. I haven't had any issues with the sealer letting my wet ones dry out. I would buy this product again.
