I had a tooth that was sensitive when pressed. After a few days I started using Listerine Sensitivity Mouthwash morning and night and after a few days things started to improve. By chance I got an appointment with a dentist and drew attention to this problem. I took x-rays and saw nothing. She recommended continuing to use mouthwash with a toothpaste for sensitive teeth like Sensodyne and that if the situation doesn't improve within about 3 weeks, more research is needed. I am happy to report that the condition of the tooth gradually improved and after another 3 weeks the sensitivity completely disappeared. Now it doesn't replace a dentist or endodontist if you have serious problems with your teeth or gums, but it's definitely worth trying before making an appointment.
