This is a great studio lighting starter kit containing two soft boxes, two light stands and two 5500 Kelvin light bulbs. Softboxes fold/unfold like umbrellas and are stored in their cases. Everything is neatly folded in the supplied bag. Running out of room in the gym bag, I added an AC adapter and an extension cord so I didn't have to search for it when installing the kit. Attach the softboxes vertically or horizontally, adjust the angle, screw in the bulbs and attach the Velcro front diffuser cover. Plug it in, turn it on and you've got a nice, neutral, soft light. The entire installation/dismantling takes less than 5 minutes. The bulbs produce a constant light source of 5500K, which is first reflected by the silvery material on the back of the box and then highly diffused by the front diffuser material, creating a soft and comfortable light. The boxes are quite large, which is necessary to get soft light. A constant light source lets you see live how it falls on the object and how shadows fall. The softbox positions can be easily adjusted to achieve the desired look. For less than $60, this is a really great deal. It contains everything you need to get started with studio lighting such as product photography, macro photography or portraits. Constant light is also much easier to use than studio flash. I would even recommend it to people who can only take pictures with their smartphone. I took example photos of vases with light sources left and right in front of the objects.
