Feels cheap on bedspreads and bedspreads

Bought as a gift. The colors and patterns are good on the top as long as you don't fold it back because the bottom is ugly! The feeling is very strange. Almost like plasticine. Pretty expensive for a non-functional blanket. My mother is already planning to cut it up and frame the pieces. She didn't even use the blanket in the guest room, she was so disappointed. I would be less disappointed if it cost $30.
