These are truly amazing placemats. The only thing I complain about is that they come folded and take forever to lay flat on the table. Otherwise I think they are of high quality and they look like it. I found they could be easily wiped clean with a damp cloth. Some people have complained about food and liquids dripping onto the table through the cloth. My table is covered with a protective varnish, so that's not a problem for me. If you have kids, and many of us have kids, you're better off with cheap everyday vinyl placemats and using them when serving guests. I personally love them and do not regret the purchase. They have exactly the allure I wanted. Very rich. Don't look cheap.
