I have an old Polycom IP phone (Soundpoint 430 SIP) that never worked with my old Plantronics headset. I suffered from neck and shoulder pain from holding the phone, so I decided I really needed a headset. After reading another Polycom user's review (a different model), I decided to order. $12 is incredibly cheap for what this thing has to offer. It comes with an adapter that plugs into the headset jack and includes tone and volume and a switch to change what's called a chain line (8 options - I just left it on default). Connected and made a few test calls. So far none have reported any problems. Switched back and forth between handset and headset and my test calls sounded the same. So far very very satisfied.
