I really like having a chain because the dog will hear it if it slips when you put it on and it helps with leash manners to practice. Leather is a safer collar than nylon and I prefer the look. Look at the construction and good weight/thickness for a 70+ lb pup that I have. The only downside is that I ordered an umbrella too big, I needed one less hole for a perfect fit. But the dog is young and will fill up over time, and it fits snug enough when tightened that the dog can't stick its head out, so it's not a particular problem.
