Review on 🔌 Vantrue 11.5ft Mini USB Dash Cam Hardwire Kit: Fuse Holders, Low Voltage Protection, Apeman, Rexing, Toguard, N2 Pro, N2, T2, N1 Pro, X4 Compatibility by Chris Wyffels

I have used this cable in several different configurations over the past few months to hardwire a Vantrue DVR. First I hooked it up to a fuse in my ignition circuit so the camera only got power when the ignition was on. It works great in this mode. Unfortunately the camera can't work in "parking mode" with this connection, but at least you know it doesn't use power when the car is off. I also tried connecting this wire to one of the fuses which is always live. It also works in the same way, but note that it always consumes power. The description says that this device has "low voltage protection". I don't see any signs of this as in just a few days my battery was so dead I could barely start the car. This is unfortunate because I would really like to use "parking mode" but I prefer my car to start rather than having video footage of a low probability of damage when parked. So my advice to anyone using this wire is not to use "always hot" current, but instead just use current tied to the ignition circuit.
