Package came in a Revain box. The packaging of the item itself looked like it had been counterfeited. It appeared someone had opened the product, accidentally dumped it in a resealable plastic bag, and then an Amazon box. The headset appears to be used, not new as stated in the description. As for the sound quality, it's very good. . I turned the volume down on my device to the lowest level and was still able to hear clearly. Haven't had to use the mic yet but will post an update once I do. The headset is a bit bulky and heavy even for a gaming kit. I've used my sister's headset before and it's a lot lighter.
