Not effective at removing odors in my experience

Firstly, this air purifier is identical to that of Eureka, a brand I'm more familiar with. I was reassured that replacement filters would be readily available. There seem to be dozens of air purifiers out there and it's not obvious to me that replacement filters for some of them will be available in the future. I tested this air purifier in my 220 sqm apartment for a week. a week in my kitchen (which is part of an open floor plan) and a week in my 120 square meter apartment. ft. There is a smell in the basement. My basement smells like dusty stale air, not musty, and I was hoping this air purifier would help. Unfortunately, even after a week, it didn't affect the smell in any way. Then I placed the air purifier in the kitchen, about 30 cm from the back wall. I was hoping this would help reduce odors associated with cooking and trash. I couldn't keep it on medium due to the volume of its fan, so I set it to low. The fan speed is pretty low, but I did notice a high-pitched whine from the engine. I think based on the placement of the unit in various places in my house that the high pitched engine noise is only noticeable when the unit is placed on a hard floor. After installing the air purifier, I cooked Indian food and could smell it in the kitchen and throughout the house for several days. I have come to the conclusion that an air purifier cannot remove odors, at least not in my kitchen where I have an open floor plan and cannot place the air purifier in the most optimal spot for airflow. office and turned it into a middle one. The sound of its fan merges with the sound of the computer fan in my office. He's lying on the low-pile carpet and I don't hear the high-pitched squeak I heard him make when he was standing in my kitchen. There are no odors to eliminate in my office, but in the spring it gets dusty and full of pollen and I spend many hours every day with the door closed. So far I haven't noticed any difference in air quality, but I think the difference will be negligible anyway.
