I read some other reviews and I pretty much figured this wire out after half a dozen mistakes. The caps are not to blame, the wire is not solely to blame for bad connections. It was a cleanup. Apparently it takes VERY little to twist the wires inside. So I took some tiny wire cutters and cut the sleeve down and away from the inner wires to avoid possible razor blade cuts. *Wire with tip inside makes it much easier. Breaks the outer shell without damaging the inner wires! The first few gave zero light on the tester. The last ones gave a bit but couldn't give all 8 lights. It occurred to me that I must have done something wrong with some of the wires and the only possibility was that they were shorted! I did without a scraper (sharp blade) to cut the outer shell and BAMN! Perfect connections across the board! I did a run through to using the HDMI over Cat 6 extender with no problems and now my projector is connected to my receiver! Surround sound on the projector is like my own mini theater! Eventually I will connect the cables so instead of all these little cameras I have POE security cameras wherever I want. small wire cutters to cut the bushing and rip it apart a bit to make adjustments. It doesn't take long, no matter how carefully you peel off the outer cover, to cause problems. Put the finished wire on the tester to make sure everything went well.
