I have an iPhone XR and have tried different cases to carry my phone. To date, all of these holsters have used Velcro, and that, in a nutshell, is a problem. The hook part of the Velcro wears out quickly, so the flap cannot be securely fastened. Also, the belt loop is too high regardless of the orientation of the holster. It can be worn vertically or horizontally. In any case, if the holster sits higher on the hip, the passage for your belt will be too high. When standing or walking I prefer a lower seat holster. But that's just my preference.
