Bought this lens two weeks ago. At one time I used an old model (Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II), but over time I bought a better lens - Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM. During operation, the lens, together with the camera, fell from a tripod from a height of 1.8 m. The camera is alive, the lens wascomvered, I had to get the old 50mm 1.8. Ofcomurse, it was already unpleasant, but the toad was choking to take the new USM, and the prices jumped. I took USM for 13 thousand, now we have it for 25 thousand - an unrealistic option. And then an ated more or less acceptable option appeared. Bought, tested, which I would like to note. STM motors for video really work better than the "crunches" on the previous fellow. When focusing, the motors are not audible at all in the video. The enlarged focus ring is really much morecomnvenient now, although I almost always shoot with autofocus, so I canโt really appreciate this moment. A metal mount is more of a show-off and soothing the soul of aesthetes (just about me). But the added petals to the diaphragm are very pleasing on the bokeh. By the way, the inversion of the background, typical for Helios, is really felt on this lens, although not as brightly as on Helios, but there is something in it. Sharpness is quicker and more precise than the old brother. I do not regret the purchase, I am satisfied. Well, a frame on an open hole without processing:
