Both factory plugs on my RV extension cord are defective. I installed these replacement parts (male and female) and I'm ready to go. A large part of the cost of an RV extension cord is the cord, so it's definitely worth repairing. The tools needed are quite simple. Pliers, Phillips or square and flat screwdrivers, sharp knife and high-quality wire strippers. Care must be taken not to cut too deeply into the outer sheath or the inner insulation of the wire, in order not to cut through the inner insulation of the wire and lose too many strands when stripping. Took me about 20 minutes for one fork. If you're not very experienced, or even if you are, follow the instructions, they're pretty well written.
