I put this spout on the canister, drove to the gas station, filled the canister and put the spout on the canister for the first time. After the canister was empty, I went to the gas station and filled it a second time, replacing the spout. When I tried to get gas from a bottle, the gas continued to flow around the lid. I removed the spout and looked at the seal. This is not a rubber compound, but a harder material. It took me about 15 minutes to remove the gasket, put it back on and then put it on the can. Then I removed the spout and the gasket failed to stay in place to properly attach the lid to the jar. It is permanently deformed as it has partially moved away from the spout and was compressed during the cap tightening process on first use. I replaced the spout on a Gott gas cartridge I bought in 1992. The nose became brittle and cracked. . I was able to remove and use the original rubber pad from the 29 year old spout as it was still soft and pliable. The new outlet seal is PURE GARBAGE. DO NOT BUY.
