Review on LACTIC RESCUE TONER Resurface Exfoliate by Anna Goetz

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I'm saving that for the zombie apocalypse.

Okay, I bought it at a big "C" store (much cheaper). That's great! I'm a 50-year-old woman, Caucasian, in the midst of the premenopausal years with all the ramifications that come with it: night sweats, hair loss, weight gain, and skin worse than it was during puberty (hooray!, me). That means clogged pores, sun spots, fine lines (which become less "fine" around the eyes), and hormonal acne. I have LOTS of different salicylic acid products of different types and brands and I have to say they just don't work for me. None of them, no matter how expensive, have cleared my pores or treated my big pimples. Enter this tonic. I love acids (lactic acid, glycolic acid). Unfortunately MANY brands (even $$$) add ALCOHOL which burns and dries my skin horribly. (Note: Teenage oily skin, fair skin with some freckles, now mostly normal to dry depending on time of year or products used.) After ONE APPLICATION, I can see results: more even skin tone (less redness or brown spots), more smooth, less Acne than the day before. Obviously it's too early for me to see how this happens with lines. I also need to be consistent with my retinol product. But that's reassuring! Some tips. If you have sensitive skin, DO NOT apply this immediately after cleansing; wait an hour (not that most of us aren't going anywhere). There are ACIDS in here that are more likely to cause a slight tingling or burning sensation if you have rough skin. This is significantly less than other products. As I get older I realize that natural/organic/cruelty-free is important to me and this brand is doing just that. I will continue to buy from Big C as long as they sell it and then I will buy here. Highly recommended!
