I bought these because my older dogs are not good with polished hardwood floors, they are uncomfortable, they slip and slide and they may injure their hips . These dog socks help them stick to the ground a bit better, they quickly figured out the purpose of the socks after initially believing that I was tormenting them with the socks. (They weren't happy) If you have puppies and a tile or hardwood floor this helps with their mobility, the added benefit is that they are less likely to scratch the floor when carried, so that's a bonus.
