So for the first time I got an 8:1 HDMI switch without a power supply. Bad news, what do you think, right? I received my order on Sunday, emailed J-Tech support the next day and on Wednesday I had the power supply! So, great customer service! Now that I have a power supply, I've been using the junction box since Wednesday and have found that it does exactly what I need it to do. If it had a different set of component connectors it would be absolutely perfect, but it's a pretty cool little product! The only thing I've found is that some types of sources have the TV's internal audio muted. This happens, for example, with my computer or my small DVD recorder. But the solution is very simple. I cycle the TV and junction box and get internal sound again. I will also find that I have an IR receiver plugged in and find the little remote control useless. Maybe the battery needs to be discarded, I don't know. In any case, you can switch inputs with a button right on the unit, but 90% of the time the switch block is connected to my XBox component, so I don't change inputs that often. Oh, another thing I noticed is that with the toggle it seems like the Xbox image is shrinking horizontally. However, for Xbox360 games, this is an easy fix. Just go to the game settings and set up a safe zone for the game video settings.
