I was concerned that this case might be too small for my iPad Air 3 (2019) and the case I have on my iPad Air 3. As you can see in the photo, it fits perfectly! It even locks into a smaller external compartment with a handle and attached charging cable, plug adapter and the little pen that comes with the lid. There are two exterior zippered pockets and fit my charging cable and plug. They're tight but fit. and I have room in another larger zipped compartment for cleaning wipes etc. The interior padding seems adequate considering I have a case on my iPad Air 3 (2019). I feel well protected. I don't know about the water resistance yet as I just received it today and am writing a review. This is something I don't normally do. I'm so happy that it fits and my iPad Air is protected I thought I'd write this right now. I think based on the feel of the material it will withstand a certain amount of water. If you put too many items in the outer pockets, there may be problems with the zipper in the tablet compartment. Unless you have a thick ceiling like me, you probably don't need to worry.
