UPDATE! A few months ago I wrote below a glowing review of a previous purchase of Marimekko floral print sheets which I still love. The black and white stripe sets I bought "Awful! I bought a couple of floral print sets and loved them. Afraid that these amazing cotton sheets would be discontinued I bought a couple of stripe sets to have a set to use now and some new ones Sets als Reserve. (Siehe unten; I know I'm obsessed!) Soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ooooooow, I finally decided to put the striped set on my king size bed so I did what I always do: wash the set in cold water with as little dye as possible. smell in a front loading machine and then tumble dry in a medium heat dryer. THE RESULT WAS TERRIBLE! Each item had discoloration and - I've never seen anything like this before - large ugly patches of dots and blemishes. The white streaks are now a blotchy dirty gray and I took the blotches out of the NEW kit packaging to show the difference which looks much worse live. White is difficult to photograph, but the difference is unmistakable. back - now I should probably wash a new set and see if it happens again. Unfortunately - because I really thought I had found the perfect percale bed linen. ________ (the review below was written for a previous purchase, a different drawing) we are talking about bedding; I only buy 100% cotton and love crisp percale. The fabric has a very comfortable weight. If you love all-cotton and percale Ralph Lauren bedding, you'll love these. Although they don't have the smooth sheen and crispness of RL cotton sheets. What I like best: They surprisingly don't wrinkle. I iron my cotton sheets often, but the 4" edge of the flat sheet and pillowcases stay flat after washing, so I don't feel the need to iron them like I normally would. The fabric is much smoother and feels more comfortable if you take the time to steam iron. I was won over by the weight of the cotton percale and have purchased several sets of these sheets. I think they get better with age after being washed a lot. I want the duvet cover to be striped. If you like heavier sheets like Vintage Martex or similar, you'll love these. I don't find them coarse, but they aren't smooth, silky, with lots of threads, and I like durable cotton that only gets better with time.
