
These USB 3.0 cables are decent cables. They do what they have to do. I have different cables so I can swap them out and make different types of connections. If you want to connect a cable to a USB socket and then to a USB stick/flash drive, then this is the wrong cable. It connects to the computer USB port normally, but not to the USB flash drive. For this you need a cable (plug <- -> socket). Buy USB 3.0 cables as they are backwards compatible with the old 2.0 standard. It makes no sense to buy old technology. New computers come with USB 3.0 ports. So if you should ditch the old computer and keep the USB 3.0 cables, you should be fine going forward.
