UPDATE: Seller contacted. I sent some photos and they happily sent a new pair within a week! I am very thankful and happy with how they are holding up now. Very disappointed that even after 2 weeks at school all the black fabric on the sides came loose and the elastic spring loaded part ended up wearing out and sinking to the ground. I don't recommend them which is a shame because they are very light and fit well.
