The power supply itself and the cable from the unit to the laptop are virtually indistinguishable from the original. The brick-to-wall cable is actually about a foot longer than my original, which was an unexpected bonus (to clarify, the old one was 35 inches and the new one was 47 inches). Connected, loads as expected. The construction looks the same as the original, so I assume the breaking point will be the same as the original. I untied a bundle connecting the brick to the laptop, on the brick that came in the kit. I'll probably be more protective of this new one, especially at this particular moment - at least I know what I signed up for this time. It works well and I'm happy with it.
