I really wanted to like this bed. I'm a young adult, sleep on my back and weigh 115 pounds and I bought my first non-college double bed. I was fascinated by the convenience of packing the mattress delivered to the front door, which only required air to be blown out. I also loved the memory foam pillow that came with it. I had a memory foam mattress topper for my old single bed and was convinced I wanted to use memory foam throughout. I ignored other reviews that said this mattress was "too hard" and figured I could just add a mattress topper if it was uncomfortable. Get used to this new mattress. However, after three months I can say with certainty that this mattress is not made with real memory foam. Memory foam is designed to work in such a way that the parts of the body that need to sink into the mattress sink in while everything else is well supported. My whole little body sinks into a shallow notch with no lumbar support, giving me back pain in the mornings. I've tried everything including a mattress pad, a pillow under my knees, and a small pillow right in the lumbar area. My best solution right now is to turn the mattress over to the bottom where there is a hard plastic pillow and put a memory foam mattress topper in there. The bed should not be turned to the side not intended to be slept on in order to increase comfort. My friend, who is 100 pounds heavier than me, also finds this bed uncomfortable, so it appears to be directly related to the sleeper's weight. In short, do not buy. Spend more money on a higher quality memory foam mattress. You spend almost a third of your life sleeping, so don't skimp on something as cheap and simple as this.
