Don't forget to take into account the length of the hook from the nail that attaches the hook to the wall
The nail needs to go. If you just hang the picture with a nail, it works fine. But if you stick a nail in the indentation (to attach the hook to the wall), the painting will hang down an inch. So you need to take this into account when using the indentation to place the nail and hook. Or use the indentation to position the bottom of the hook instead of the nail. For heavier photos, you will also need an assistant.
