I actually had higher hopes for these. When I got them, yes, they had thick material and yes the material stayed wider going up through bottom/behind. However, to me, they fit more like hip huggers might fit. You can see on the pictures where the model is wearing the white pair showing the front shot how it is very low in front and then she had pulled it way up over her hips. The string part felt more like a round shoestring that you might find on those tennis shoes that are pre-laced. It had a tiny bit of stretch to it but not as much as others that I have tried. It does have a nice feel on the material, but overall they wouldn't be comfortable for me to wear for more than an hour or so.
