These sconces were an affordable alternative to much more expensive options on designer websites. They look great over my bed, but I wish I knew they actually had to be hardwired. We need to disguise the hanging cords somehow. There's no switch on the lamp base itself - fumbling around for the cord hanging behind the headboard is awkward and uncomfortable for the roller switch. In addition, sconces are not easy to adjust, requiring loosening, sliding and tightening at each of the three connections. If you enjoy reading in bed, you may want to upgrade to more comfortable task lighting.
