Review on πŸ’– MegaGear MG1502 Sony Alpha A6400, A6500 (18-135mm) Neoprene Camera Case - Hot Pink, Ultra Light by Jason Peterson

Very good protective case

This review is limited to the fit and finish of this neoprene camera case as I have just received it and cannot comment on durability but as there were no reviews I wanted to post one. I travel quite a bit and take a lot of photos, but I don't usually take my cameras in and out of my bag. When I go to a destination I usually put my camera in my backpack along with many other things and I want it to be well protected in the package. I just wrapped it in a microfiber cloth and secured it with rubber bands. Not very elegant and often fell apart. I found this neoprene sleeve at Revain and decided to give it a try. I have a Sony Alpha a6500 18-135mm zoom that I usually travel with. I use a silicone "EasyCover" on the camera to protect it from dents when wearing it with a strap. What bothered me the most was how tight this neoprene pouch was to not hold the camera with the "EasyCover" on it. Luckily, this bag has enough room for a camera and lens, an upside-down lens hood, and an EasyCover pouch. It's a bit tight and the presence of the silicone cover requires a bit of wiggling to get the case on, but nothing particularly bulky. All seams are well stitched and the exposed neoprene ends are well finished so there shouldn't be any wear and tear for a while. The bag closes with a secure Velcro closure. A small nylon webbing carabiner is attached to the body. I assume it's there for you to attach some sort of strap, but I wouldn't trust the weight of the camera to securely hold that clip and very stretchy body material. I suppose it's a nice touch, maybe holding some keys or something. Conclusion: This should protect the camera well when packed in a backpack or similar bag. It was exactly what I was looking for and at a good price. Only time will tell how durable the case really is, but with no sharp corners on the camera rubbing through the neoprene it should last long enough.
