This is a fantastic pouf. There is a smell when unpacking. However, it seems to have dissipated fairly quickly. This is a strong chair. It has a rotating top which is amazing and I can't help but rotate my feet when using it. However, the rolling mechanism did not come loose. It's very durable so it won't slip if you don't want it to. The wood is complex and the legs are well constructed. It looks antique, luxurious to me. The upper is made of leather and has buttons that give it a tufted design. They are the same color as the skin. It is then fastened over the skin and decorated with brass heads. The stool is a wonderful piece of furniture. It's well made and strong. I am really impressed. I also think it's the right size. It's not too big or too small. I currently use it in front of a love seat, but it can also be placed in front of a chair or even under a table.
