Good price, interest wanes quickly

Priced (just under $12 at time of review) this little kid's toy is a good deal. If you have a collection of toys for your kids, this isn't a bad addition, but it's also not great if you're looking for "simple" (ie long-term) toys. It lights up and makes sounds like all other children's toys. I wouldn't say it's at least educational; or at least no more educational than random household items. That is, your child will not suddenly know colors and speak English, Spanish and French (I hope that this is just that they can create a single SKU and not separate a real toy for each language and not try to learn other languages .) Basically it would be "Hit this thing, tug on it for a while; watch it light up and make a sound, and then keep going.โ€ You know, like almost all toys. It is made in China but by a "famous brandโ€ that we hope controls the operation to ensure quality and safety. To me, this is neither a great toy nor a bad toy, just one of those children's toys that keep being produced that claim to be a great toy because it's very educational. My advice: find something for babies and toddlers that they actually enjoy, even if the packaging doesn't pretend to be educational. Children learn best when they are having fun!
