Overall this rug is definitely better than just trying to soak in an uncoated bathtub. It's pretty comfy and thick. I chose this mat because it has an extra adjustable back pad. And I'm definitely glad he is. I wish it was thicker in the area where your tailbone tends to hit. It's definitely better than nothing, but I'm tall, thin, have a complex chronic condition and wish there was a little more padding in that particular area. I was able to lie comfortably in the bathtub and read for a long time, and it was never possible without a pad. The suction cups worked well and I removed them with my nails, freeing the suction cups between baths. It dries well and quickly. I would recommend this rug but I also wish it was a thicker fabric in the middle. Overall happy with my purchase, but will likely add another folded towel for extra coccyx padding.
