I had to try and use a razor blade and cut it to get at the two wires. This insulation is very stiff, lasts a very long time and of course needs to be close to my fingers for comfort! This wire can be useful for repairing big, old radios and the like. But for small projects like lamps, this is all wrong. I'll use up the stock I ordered, but then I'll look for something else.
