Not only do they have a wire edge, they also have fold-out wire supports on the narrower ends that keep the basket upright, tension the fabric and allow for stacking. The floor is covered with fibreboard, which is not flimsy cardboard but dense and hard fibreboard, a material similar to perforated cardboard only without the holes. This is my favorite out of anything I've owned simply for its excellent rigid construction and quality materials. They fit perfectly under our adjustable bed. I like clear vinyl windows, or you can move them to see the fixed end or the back if you like. I can easily take them off the shelf and the bottom and sides don't flex like other frameless models I've had. So far I have nothing to complain about and will order more!
