This product does the job well. I originally bought it to use as a tension wheel. However, the material that makes up the wheel is still too soft to smooth. Eventually I found a pressed paper wheel that was heavy enough to flatten. I have found this wheel to be good for polishing metal or possibly other hard materials. Aggressive polishing of metal creates some abrasion, but not as much as other polishing pads made of softer materials.
